With the schools returning and normality fighting to settle back in, our attention is turning to the fun of half term!

This year we will need to be more prepared then ever if we want to enjoy seasonal events (and be ready for change which may need to come last minute), but that doesn’t mean we can’t have some spooky fun!!

What’s on in Kent this Halloween 2020

Kent life: Halloween Spooktacular

24th October – 1st November

Online booking is coming soon for events at Kent Life as we’re invited to attend family friendly Halloween events as the Kent favourite is transformed for the spooky season.

There’s pumpkin carving, creepy cuddle corner, spooky farm rides and daily fancy dress competitions.

If you’re brave enough you can also take part in the trick or treating in the historic houses! You never know who’s lurking behind the doors! Trick or Treating is available between 2pm – 5pm every day in our half term.

Kent Life also plan to run their ‘fabulous show’ in their Big Top – included in the general admission price.

Pick Your Own Pumpkins: Riverside Farms

PYO Pumpkins has become a highlight of the season, so we’re super happy to see this should be running this year!

The Hop Farm: Halloween Half Term Fun at the Farm

The Hop Farm are offering a treat of ‘spook-tastic’ fun for the half term holidays!

They’re calling for everyone to dress up in your best Halloween fancy dress and join in in the fun! Here’s just some of what’s in store (all subject to change):

Penshurst Place: Broomstick Flying School

24th October – 31st October

Super excited about this one to see the place where ‘local witches’ test their flying skills!! Apparently, the walled gardens provide some of the best challenges for fledgling magical flyers!

Penshurst Place Flying instructor, Madame Flyleada, has lost a number of her students stuck in trees or worse! Follow the trail and complete their flying reports!

Trail 10.30am – 6pm, Crafts 11am – 4pm

Hever Castle: Halloween Half Term Fun

24th October – 1st November

Another chance to dress up in your Halloween best and follow the pumpkin trail around the Hever Castle grounds.

The staff at Hever Castle are getting involved this year and having their own pumpkin carving competition. We want you to be the judge so make sure you vote for your favourite pumpkin when you visit.

Plus, for the chance to receive your own treat (or a trick?!) join in with a pumpkin carving competition from home. All you need to do is share a photo of your masterpiece on Instagram using the hashtag #HalloweenatHever by Friday 30 October 2020. The winner will be announced on Monday 2 November.

Mount Ephraim Gardens: Halloween Event

31st October  

Complete the Halloween nature trail through the gardens and watch out for cheeky pumpkins and naughty ghouls along the way!

Mount Ephraim Gardens is offering a chance to meet creepy crawlies, take part in fun packed activities and crafts along with long distant hat throwing!

Young visitors can enjoy storytelling and everyone can enjoy the ‘devilish falconry display from Joes Bows’

Don’t forget to dress up with prizes for best fancy dress!

Online Baking Classes

17th – 31st October

A great way to keep your children engaged over the half term, enrol onto these Halloween Cake school.

The Halloween Cake School will run online in a private Facebook group with access to pre recorded and live sessions.

This class will also include a secret spooky goody box that will be sent to your delivery address during October (UK only) – containing some fun equipment and ingredients (suitable for Gluten Free and Dairy Free diets) used in the classes.

Meet the Paca’s Pumpkin Bowling

Come meet our alpacas with some friends or family in a personal group booking. Spend some time feeding and petting them whist they roam our woodland area.

Afterwards find your competitive side by playing Pumpkin Bowling. Split into two teams, add your points together to see what team wins. Hay bale lanes means that even the weakest bowlers have a chance as they will bounce off the sides : ) £80 for max 10 people per 1hr group booking.

Lullingstone Castle – Halloween Pumpkin Carving

Saturday 31st October. 12 noon – 5pm

Join us for Halloween Pumpkin carving on the last day of the season, perfect for all the family. Fancy dress is welcome – let’s celebrate the end of our 15th anniversary of the garden in style!

Tables for Pumpkin carving will be social distanced and maximum of 3 children per table (only one adult per child to assist), all plastic carving tools will be cleaned before each re-use.

Standard Admission charges apply + £2 per child for Pumpkin Carving (please bring cash for pumpkin carving to be placed in a collection bucket!)
