How to find things to do with your family in Kent and Medway during lockdown.

28 Dec 2020 | Kent Guides

With lockdown and tiers continuing into the new year, now more than ever we need to know what’s available to do in Kent and Medway.

Getting regular exercise is great for your mental wellbeing and can really help lift those lockdown blues. And finding something local to do is going to be essential to all of us.

That’s why I’m creating one resource for families in Kent to use to discover new places recommended by other local parents!

What do you want to find?

Have a think about what types of walks or experiences you’re looking for. Do you need buggy friendly walks, do you have a dog desperate for a run, or have you managed to find some time to go for a walk with a friend so you’re looking for a nice café on route?!

With everyone contributing to the directory, my vision is anyone can enter the directory, find the perfect activity and then head off with the family and make some memories!

The On the Doorstep Directory

The new ‘Days Out in Kent’ directory allows you to add walks and parks in Kent and Medway for others to discover and enjoy. You can upload images, share useful information and others will also be able to leave feedback and further advice.

The aim is to create the best resource for parents in Kent, to help us all get through this lockdown and then beyond.

So if you have any great walks or hidden gems you can share, please add them here.

Inspirational Kent Accounts to follow

Whilst we’re all working on building up this resource, if you’re looking for something right now, check out these great Kent Instagram accounts providing lots of ideas on things to do:

@Familywalksandparkskent: I love this account, Lucy has featured a few times in On the Doorstep blogs and shares great images of walks and parks across Kent, along with providing very useful information in the captions.

@Explorekentuk: Another fantastic page showcasing beauty spots across Kent. A great page to see what’s possible with your children.

@KentLifemag: This page brings so much inspiration if you want to explore the best of Kent. You could create an amazing bucket list of places to visit and Kentlifemag displays our county beautifully.
